Can you tell if your wall is wet?

When storms hit, we travel!   When storms hit home we jump into action real quickly to salvage everything we can.  Many times during a storm the water will rise or even blow in and cause exterior walls with insulation to become wet.  Sometimes you can see water lines and know it is wet inside but other times you cannot.  SERVPRO has penetrating moisture meters to assist our technicians in determining what is wet, how far up is wet and how far into the room is wet.   In the scenario post the exterior wall had become wet and the insulation needed to be removed to ensure drying the wall cavity could be completed.   After the structural components are all at level of dry comparable to the other areas of the home we can reinstall insulation, drywall, paint and then base and make it "Like it never even happened."
